WakeWords helps you record a personal message to hear at your next alarm. Your recordings are personal, and the app is designed to keep them under your control.

Information the app uses

• Voice recordings: When you choose to record, the app uses your microphone to create and play your messages. Recordings are saved on your device.
• Transcripts and titles: The app may create a transcript and suggest a title using on-device speech and language features. These are saved with your messages on your device. If those features are unavailable, your recording is still saved.
• Wake plan and preferences: Your selected days and times, message choices, alarm state, and optional reminder settings are stored on your device so the app can keep your morning plan.

Permissions and notifications

WakeWords requests microphone access when you record, and alarm access to schedule your wake-up alarm. If you turn on evening reminders, it also requests notification permission and schedules those reminders on your device. You can change permissions in iOS Settings and turn off evening reminders in the app.

Sharing and tracking

WakeWords does not require an account. The app does not send your recordings, transcripts, titles, or wake plan to WakeWords servers. It does not include advertising or third-party analytics, and it does not sell your personal information. iOS handles alarm delivery, notifications, and any device backups according to your Apple settings; on-device speech features may download language resources from Apple.

Keeping or removing your information

Your messages and settings remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. You can delete individual recordings in the app; removing the app removes its local data from the device. Data in an iOS backup is managed through your Apple backup settings.
